Friday was the first day that I was almost positive that I was feeling some baby movement. I've been wondering since the beginning of last week actually. Friday morning when I woke up I flipped over on my stomach (enjoy that while it lasts, Shannon!) I must not have done that for awhile, because I noticed that it feels like I'm laying on top of a baseball. Weird feeling. So I'm laying there for a minute, and start to feel something. I decided to hold my breath and see if it was my heartbeat or something. Still felt it. Everyone says it feels like gas, but that's not quite it either. I guess that's the closest thing to it, but I wouldn't really say that describes it either.
I've noticed it quite a bit this weekend, and then again today at work. If this child turns out to be as active when she comes out as she has been this weekend and from what we've seen on the ultrasounds..... Oh boy. :)
In other news, I have garage sale fever. A gal at work told me I have to garage sale-ing for baby clothes once I know what I'm having, because you can find some fabulous things for very cheap. So I checked out one last Friday morning and went to a kind of city-wide type one at Kenwood Hall on Saturday. The one on Friday was all baby boy clothes, and the glider they were selling had just been sold right before I got there. Drat! I need a glider and footstool, and $20 would have been a steal. :( I had better luck on Saturday though. I walked away with a hooded bath robe, 2 onesies, 2 wooly footie sleepers, and a cute! purple sundress for $2 total. Yay me! I figure, yeah, we're not 100% sure baby is a girl, but if not, then I'm only out $2. The two dresses that I bought (one at Target, one at Babies-R-Us) are sitting with their receipts in the nursery, so they can be exchanged if need be.
Shopping for baby girl clothes is like crack.

Hey Baby,
Happy Valentines' Day! Today your Daddy and I went to Wichita to eat lunch at this amazing restaurant called Old Chicago and do a little shopping. At my insistence we went to Babies R' Us. I think we may actually agree on bedding and strollers and all of those fun things. As Daddy looked through some snowsuits on clearance, he mentioned that he's starting to feel like you're a boy too. Are we going to be in for a surprise if you're a girl. I've been referring to you as a he all along. I hope that doesn't give you issues when you get older. :) Honey, we're going to love you like crazy no matter if you're a boy or a girl. And either way, you're going to end up with some monkey things, because your dad is obsessed with monkeys for whatever reason.
Along those lines, let me again stress to you how important it is that you position yourself in such a way on March 9th so that we can see what you are. Got it?
I love you,
Mommy
